Counselling and Psychotherapy – "...the umbrella terms that cover  a range of talking therapies which are delivered by trained practitioners who work with people over a short or long period of time, to help them bring about effective change or enhance their wellbeing." (BACP)



Hypnotherapy -the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as to bring about therapeutic changes. The Hypnotherapist assists in activating the inner resources of the client in order to achieve realistic goals. (Not for groups or entertainment)



Bereavement / Grief Therapy - Bereavement counselling may be helpful to people who need extra help in working through their grief. It offers them a chance to explore their feelings and come to terms with their loss by talking to someone that is professionally trained to help. In some cases people suppress their grief, which in turn may lead to mental health issues later on. It is especially at this point that bereavement counselling / grief therapy can be very beneficial.



CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – "Combines Cognitive and Behavioural techniques.  Clients are taught ways to change thoughts and expectations and relaxation techniques are used.  It has been effective for stress-related ailments, phobias, obsessions, eating disorders and (at the same time as drug treatment) major depression." EMDR – “Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy that was developed to resolve symptoms resulting from disturbing and unresolved life experiences.  EMDR is thought to imitate the psychological state that we enter into when in rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. Studies show that when in REM sleep we are able to make new associations between things very rapidly - EMDR may be tapping into this high speed processing mode that we all have but often can't access. The theory is that EMDR works directly with memory networks and enhances information processing by creating associations between the distressing memory and more adaptive information in other  memory networks.” (BACP)



Life Coaching - The practice that helps people identify and achieve personal goals. Life coaches help clients set and reach goals using a variety of tools and techniques. Personal coaching is a process which is designed and defined in a relationship agreement between a client and a coach. It is based on the client's expressed interests, goals and objectives. A professional coach may use inquiry, reflection, requests and discussion to help clients identify personal and/or business and/or relationship goals, and develop action plans intended to achieve those goals. The client takes action, and the coach may assist, but never leads or does more than the client.
